International Report on Educating Retail Investors about Crypto-Assets12/22/2020The International Organization of Securities Commissions has published a report on how regulators can inform retail investors about the risks and characteristics of crypto-assets. The report sets out the potential risks to retail investors, such as lack of market liquidity, volatility, partial or total loss of the invested amount, insufficient information disclosure and fraud. It then goes on to provide guidance on how regulators can develop educational content on crypto-assets and inform the public about unauthorized firms, the various communication channels available to inform the public and how partnerships might be forged to develop and distribute educational content.
