Revisions to Supervisory Reporting Templates and Instructions Under the EU Capital Requirements Regulation Published
12/06/2017A Commission Implementing Regulation has been published in the Official Journal of the European Union, which amends the Implementing Technical Standards, published in 2014, for the reporting by institutions on own funds and the provision of financial information.
View Amending Regulation ((EU) 2017/2114).
This newly published Amending Regulation updates the original ITS, including the templates and instructions, to reflect supplementary changes made by secondary legislation to the Capital Requirements Regulation framework. The Amending Regulation introduces further precision in the instructions and definitions used for the purposes of the institutions' supervisory reporting, including with regard to a maturity ladder, which would allow the maturity mismatch of an institution's balance sheet to be reflected in the reporting. The Amending Regulation also amends the original ITS to reflect national regulators' ability to effectively monitor and assess the institutions' risk profile and to obtain a view on the risks posed to the financial sector, which requires changes to the reporting requirements in the areas of operational risk, credit risk and with regard to institutions' exposures towards sovereigns. Some erroneous references and formatting inconsistencies which were discovered in the course of the application of the original ITS are also being corrected.
So that institutions and national regulators have sufficient time to implement the changes, the Amending Regulation will take effect on March 1, 2018.
